The mission of Make-A-Wish® Toronto & Central Ontario is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Along with the national office, eight regional chapters grant magical wishes to children in need from coast-to-coast. Make-A-Wish Canada is an affiliate of Make-A-Wish® International, the largest wish-granting organization in the world, making dreams and wishes come true for more than 350,000 children since 1980. Make-A-Wish has four categories of wishes: I wish to go, I wish to be, I wish to have and I wish to meet. Some of the most requested wishes include travel, entertainment centres, computer systems, and meeting celebrities.
The Humber Scholarship Fund raises money to help assist students with the costs of getting a post-secondary education. Their scholarships are given mainly based on academic achievements. Other factors considered when granting scholarships include extracurricular involvement, financial need, and community contribution. They have four scholarship types including: Academic, Entrance, Application Based, and Degree. The members of Equinox Events all believe in the importance of a post-secondary education. We want to support future Humber students wanting to advance themselves and their careers through education.
